1991年、福岡市中央区にある文化スポット・通称けやき通りにオープン。当時無名であった安元亮祐をかわきりに、同じ時代を生きるアーティストや作品を独自の視点で発掘し紹介。作品展だけにとどまらず、アーティストを招いてのトーク、また音楽などのイベント開催など緊張感溢れる刺激的な空間を創出してきた。
　
Opened in 1991 at Keyaki Street, a cultural spot in Fukuoka Prefecture, Gallery MORYTA focuses on artists and artworks from this era, introducing their originality and viewpoints. It is not just about exhibiting the art though, there are also artist’s talks, live music and events, creating a culturally exciting space.
